INTRODUCTION
This article describes the August 2004 Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) Update Rollup. The build number of the August 2004 Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) Update Rollup is 6603.1. This update rollup is a prerequisite for all Exchange 2000 Server hotfixes that are released after June 29, 2004 and that have a build number that is higher than 6603.

The information store crashes randomly.
A meeting request appears to be an hour later when you view it with Outlook Web Access or when you send it to a different organization for the Hobart time zone.
MAPI folders are created in Croatian when Serbian Outlook 2003 logs on to a new mailbox.
Exchange 2000 Server drops a supplementary field when it is larger than 128 bytes.
Inetinfo.exe stops unexpectedly (crashes) on ActiveSync if the custom store sink is active.
Event 9518 -614 is not logged in a Japanese environment.
External e-mail accounts can send e-mail messages to a distribution list that has restricted access.
The information store crashes while you are expanding calendar items.

How to obtain the update rollup
The August 2004 Exchange 2000 Server post-Service Pack 3 update rollup supersedes the April 2004 Exchange 2000 Server post-Service Pack 3 rollup that was released on April 19, 2004. The build number of the April 2004 Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) Update Rollup is 6556.5.
You can install the August 2004 Exchange 2000 Server post-Service Pack 3 update rollup without uninstalling the April 2004 Exchange 2000 Server post-Service Pack 3 rollup. In other words, you can install build number 6603.1 without uninstalling build number 6556.5.
