SYMPTOMS
On a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service (Store.exe) may crash after you move the Exchange 2000 database files to a new hard disk.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if both of the following conditions are true:
- You move the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server database files (.edb) to a different hard disk.
- You modify the following two Active Directory directory service properties to point to the new database location:
- msExchSLVFile
- msExchEDBFile
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
To resolve this problem, obtain the August 2004 Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 update rollup.
