SYMPTOMS
If you use Microsoft Outlook in Cached Exchange Mode, and you send an e-mail message when your mailbox is larger than the storage limit that is set for user mailboxes in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the non-delivery report (NDR) that you receive contains the following text:
The text that is contained in the NDR is incorrect, because it mentions the mailbox of the recipient but does not notify you that your mailbox is larger than the storage limit that is specified in Exchange 2000.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if the sender's mailbox is larger than the Prohibit send at (KB) limit or larger than the Prohibit send and receive at (KB) limit that is set on the server. In this situation, the NDR that is generated by Exchange 2000 Server does not notify the sender that the size of the sender's mailbox has exceeded the specified storage limit.
