SYMPTOMS

When you try to send e-mail messages to a dynamic distribution list, the Inetinfo.exe process on a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server expansion server stops unexpectedly (crashes).

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

  • The dynamic distribution list is a query-based distribution list.
  • The query string for this distribution list is too big.


RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

To resolve this problem, obtain the August 2004 Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 update rollup.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
