SUMMARY

To help improve Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), the update that is described in this article changes the way that OWA handles e-mail attachments. After you apply this update, you may experience any one of the following changes in behavior when you view an e-mail attachment in OWA:

When you use OWA to view an HTML or MHTML e-mail file attachment, the content may not appear as you expect.
When you use OWA with Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or earlier, you are prompted to save an e-mail file attachment, even if the extension and Content-Type are not in the Level2FileTypes or Level2MIMEType registry keys.
When you use OWA to view an e-mail message that has an XML file attachment, the XML attachment is blocked by OWA.

Prerequisites
