Microsoft has released Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1). This article describes the issues that are fixed by this service release.

In addition to these fixes, Service Release 1 (SR-1) for Visio 2000 also provides the following updates for developers:
- The QueryCancelDocumentClose and DocumentCloseCanceled event pair now fires correctly for docked stencils.
- Attempting to lookup a shape by GUID after the shape has been moved between windows is now successful. The operation had resulted in an "Invalid sheet identifier" error message.
- The SetAnchorState function now moves an anchored window to properly reflect the new anchor state. Before the fix, the new anchor state would not be correctly synchronized with redraw.
- Attempting to add an empty toolbar by using the SetCustomToolbars method no longer causes Visio to stop responding.
- Menus added to empty UIObject objects created by using Automation no longer disappear upon a UI refresh. (It is still recommended that UIObject objects be created starting with a clone of the built-in application menus.)
- The Document.ClearCustomMenus and Document.ClearCustomToolbars methods now refresh the user interface properly.
- The WinObj.ParentWindow property now returns nothing when WinObj is a top-level window. Before the fix, it returned an apparently valid window object of type visWinOther representing the frame window.
- Attempting to add a StatusBarItem object to a custom user interface object by using Automation no longer causes Visio to stop responding.
- Cell.Formula now returns abbreviated units, consistent with earlier releases. Example: Before the fix, ("PageWidth").Formula would return "8.5 inches" instead of "8.5 in.".
- Executable add-ons built with the C/C++ support files provided with Visio 4.5 or 5.x now work properly with Visio 2000.
