SYMPTOMS

During the saving data function at the end of a layer 2 discovery, you may receive the following error message:

The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try pasting or inserting less data.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.  This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.
