SYMPTOMS
When you save a drawing as a DWG file, and then open it in AutoCAD or in IntelliCAD, some group geometry and text may be missing.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior
- Start a new drawing.
- On the Standard toolbar, click Rectangle Tool, and then draw two rectangles on the page.
- Type text into each rectangle.
- On the Shape menu, point to Grouping, and then click Group to group the rectangles.
- On the Window menu, click Show Shapesheet to view the shapesheet for the group.
- On the Insert menu, click Section, click to select the Geometry check box, and then click OK to insert a geometry section.
- Change the LineTo formulas to Width*1 and Height*1.
- Close the shapesheet, and then type text into the group.
- Save the drawing as a DWG file, and then open it in AutoCAD or in IntelliCAD.
Note that the group geometry and text are missing.
