Windows 95 (codename Chicago) build 89e is the part of the Milestone 6 stage. It is leaked on Mar 6, 2020, at 1:38 AM by Overdoze. This is the first leaked build that has a taskbar at the top as default. Also, this build has the new version of Microsoft Paint instead of the old Paintbrush.

Changes

  • Taskbar is now at the top as default.
  • There is only My Computer icon on the desktop.
  • My Computer has been changed. Now it has no Greater-than sign and Blue screen Computer.
  • Now it has the new version of Microsft Paint instead of the old Paintbrush.

Since build 81

  • My Briefcase is now renamed as "My Briefcase.bfc" instead of "My brief.bfc".
  • My Computer is the second item, Network is the third icon, Programs folder is the fourth icon, and Recycle Bin is the last icon on Desktop.
  • Now you can't use the taskbar as a folder manager.
  • Ctrl+Alt+Del keys now open Task Manager instead of Reboot dialog.
  • Window UI and Start button have been changed instead of three buttons.
  • Dr. Watson is not starting on startup.
  • Floppy drivers have been fixed.
