SYMPTOMS
When you try to print slides or a presentation from Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, you may receive the following error message:
If you switch to a different printer in the PowerPoint 2007 Print dialog box and then click Print, you receive the same error message.
CAUSE
This issue occurs if the printer driver is damaged, corrupted, or missing.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, remove the damaged printer driver. Then, reinstall the driver, or install an updated version of that driver. To do this, exit PowerPoint 2007, and then follow the steps for the operating system that you are using:
Microsoft Windows XP
- Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
- Right-click the printer that you want to remove, and then click Delete.
- If you are prompted to remove all the files that are associated with the printer, click Yes.
- Under Printer Tasks, click Add a printer, and then follow the instructions in the Add Printer Wizard to reinstall the Windows XP printer driver.
Microsoft Windows Vista
- Click Start, and then click Printers.
- Right-click the printer that you want to remove, and then click Delete.
- If you are prompted to remove all the files that are associated with the printer, click Yes.
- Click Add a printer, and then follow the instructions in the Add Printer Wizard to reinstall the Windows Vista printer driver.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, change the default printer driver for the computer. To do this, exit PowerPoint 2007, and then follow the steps for the operating system that you are using:
Windows XP
- Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
- Right-click the printer that you want to set as default, and then click Set as Default Printer.
Windows Vista
- Click Start, and then click Printers.
- Right-click the printer that you want to set as default, and then click Set as Default Printer.
