SUMMARYWhen you use some of the add-in functions that come with Microsoft Excel, you may receive the following error message File Error Cannot Find FILEFNS.DLL followed by the alert Macro cannot be successfully completed. Make sure that FILEFNS.DLL is in your path or in the same directory as <FILENAME.XLA> where <FILENAME.XLA> is the name of the add-in function you want to use. This error occurs if the FILEFNS.DLL file and the add-in (.XLA) file you want to run are not in the same directory, or if the FILEFNS.DLL file is not in your Excel directory. NOTE: This problem does not occur in later versions of Microsoft Excel for Windows. MORE INFORMATIONFor the Microsoft Excel add-in functions to work correctly, make sure that FILEFNS.DLL is in your Excel directory, or in the same directory as your add-in (.XLA) files. The add-in files are initially installed in the LIBRARY subdirectory in your Excel directory.
