Summary:
The “Total editing time” statistic that is included in the Summary Info Statistics dialog box is equivalent to the total time that the file is open. (You can access this dialog box in version: 1.x from the Edit menu by choosing Summary Info, 2.x from the File menu by choosing Summary Info)
More Information:
Idle time, time when the file is not being edited, is included in the total editing time statistic. For the total editing time to reflect only the time that the file was actively edited, you must save and close files when not in use. You can automate this process with the following macros:
This macro saves and closes the active document:
Sub MAIN FileClose 1 End Sub
This macro opens the document that you last closed:
Sub MAIN File 1 End Sub
You can assign the above macros to key combinations by choosing Assign to Key from the Macro menu and entering a key code.
