Activity Ends One Minute Early When Using Duration in Weeks PSS ID Number: Q70925 Article last modified on 04-15-1991 PSS database name: D_PRoject

4.00

MS-DOS

Summary:

When using fractions of weeks as the duration of an activity, Microsoft Project version 4.00 may miscalculate the end time of the activity by one minute.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Open a new Project file using the default work calendar.
  2. Set up an activity to start at 8:00 AM with a duration of 9 days.
  3. Set up an activity to start at 8:00 AM with a duration of 1.8 weeks (note: 1.8 working weeks = 9 working days).

The activity with duration in days ends correctly at 5:00 PM; however, the activity using weeks ends at 4:59 PM.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Project version 4.00.
