Summary:

The InsertPara command issued in a macro in Word for Windows will reset the character formatting of the next paragraph of text.

More Information:

To demonstrate:

  1. From the Macro menu, choose Record and press OK to use the default macro name.
  2. Using keystrokes only while recording, press ALT+T for Format and C for Character.
  3. Choose a font other than your Normal style font, select a color other than Auto, select Bold, and choose OK.
  4. Type a line of text.
  5. Press ENTER.
  6. Type another line of text.
  7. Press ALT+M for Macro and C for Stop Recorder.
  8. From the Macro menu, choose Run and run the macro just recorded.

Notice that the first line is inserted with the desired formatting, the second is inserted with the default Normal formatting. The InsertPara command in the macro resets the character formatting to the Normal style.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in versions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.1a. This problem was corrected in version 2.0.
