SUMMARY
When you are editing a Microsoft Works for MS-DOS document, if the selection highlight is not removed after you press F8, ESC, or an arrow key, one of the following situations may exist:
- The F8 key has been pressed several times and is still extending the highlight. In this case, press ESC twice, then press an arrow key. (When you press the ESC key the first time, Works leaves extend mode; the second time you press ESC, Works clears the selection from the range and returns the cursor to its original location.)
- The SHIFT key has been turned on or is stuck. Turn the SHIFT key off or press it several times to reset it, then press an arrow key to clear the selection.
- It is possible that a part of the keyboard may be incompatible with Works.
