SUMMARY

To print a bullet on a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet Series II or IID with Microsoft Word version 5.00 or 5.50, enter the bullet by holding down the ALT key and pressing 254 on the numeric keypad. Format this character for CourierPC.

In version 6.0 of Word, use the Tools Bullet feature to insert a bullet into the document. However, the ALT+254 option will also work in this version as described in the above paragraph.

Word version 4.00 does not directly support the character set needed to print the bullet character. This character set is available in Word versions 4.00a and later. For Word 4.00a, format the ALT+254 character for Courier to have the bullet print correctly.

Note that the above information does not refer to the original LaserJet, the LaserJet Plus, or the 500 Plus.

The bullet character is also available in the Courier font on the Y cartridge with Word 4.00, 5.00, and 5.50. This cartridge can be used with any version of the LaserJet.
