Cannot Select Entire Series of a One Series Graph PSS ID Number: Q70356 Article last modified on 05-15-1991 PSS database name: W_PowerPt

Summary:

If the PowerPoint Graph is based on a single series in the datasheet you will be unable to select the entire series in the chart for editing. When you select a part of the series and make a format change, only the selected part of the series is affected. If the chart is based on more than one series, when you select any part of a series on the chart, the entire series is selected and any format changes are applied to the entire series.

For example, if you want to recolor all the red columns in a column chart to blue, you will have to change the objects individually if the datasheet has only one active series that is being graphed. This is always the case with Pie charts since they are always based on only one series no matter how many active series are defined in the datasheet. This is by design.
