Summary:

Using the Paste From command to place a large encapsulated PostScript (EPS) graphic in Microsoft PowerPoint may cause the graphic to fail to appear. Instead, a very small object placeholder will appear, which contains no visible information. This occurs when there is not enough memory available for PowerPoint to properly import the graphic.

To correct this problem, allocate more memory to PowerPoint in one of the following two ways:

Method 1

  1. At the Finder (desktop) level, select the PowerPoint icon.
  2. From the File menu, choose Get Info.
  3. In the Application Memory Size box, type a larger number. For example, instead of 800K, try at least 1024K (1 megabyte). It may be necessary to increase this number to 2048 (2 megabytes) or more.
  4. Click the close box.

Method 2

Run the Macintosh under Finder instead of MultiFinder. This allows PowerPoint to utilize all available application memory.

More Information:

If both of the above methods fail, more memory may need to be installed in the Macintosh.
