Word 5.0: Unable to Edit (Insert) Macro with Long Name

SUMMARY
If a macro is created with a name that is exactly 31 characters in length (the maximum allowed), it cannot be inserted to allow edits.
Both the Copy and Insert command fields accept only 31 characters. To insert a macro for editing, a caret must be added to the name. This extra character is not accepted and the macro text is not inserted.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 5.0. This problem was corrected Word version 5.5.
MORE INFORMATION
A workaround is to use fewer than 31 characters to name a macro that may require further edits. KBCategory: kbother kbmacro KBSubcategory:
