Summary:

The double lines in a Microsoft PowerPoint graph indicate separate series.

Double lines between rows indicate that the data in each row is one series; double lines between columns indicate that each column of data is one series.

The data series can be determined by selecting the Datasheet command while the datasheet is active, and choosing either Series In Rows or Series In Columns.
