SUMMARY
If you receive a call from a customer who has ordered a Supplemental Printer and Conversion Kit, and a printer driver listed as being supported is not located on the disks, check the Kit’s file dates. If the files are dated 9/30/89, the customer has received the older version of the Supplemental Kit that does not contain all the printer drivers (for example, the supplemental HP DeskJet PRDs).
The current versions of Supplemental Kits 1 and 2 were released on 11/20/89. These decompressed printer drivers are available on the DOS applications server in the WORKS2 and SUPPKIT2 directories.
If a customer has this problem, identify the printer driver the customer needs, obtain the customer’s name and address, copy the file to disk, and send it to the customer. This will save resources and provide the customer a more immediate problem resolution.
