Summary:
Microsoft Word for Windows versions 1.0 and 1.1 include macros that allow you to insert EPS (encapsulated PostScript) graphics into documents by choosing Picture from the Insert menu. To install the EPS capabilities permanently into Word, open the EXAMPLES.DOC file (located in the LIBRARY subdirectory), select the EPS Support option, and choose Install.
The supplied macros modify the Insert Picture and File Print commands so that if you insert a picture with an .EPS extension, the macros take over and convert the EPS file into two new files, one for display and the other for printing on a PostScript device.
Word for Windows 1.1a includes an EPS graphics filter that negates the need for these macros. In fact, these macros must be removed to use the new EPS graphics filter.
