SUMMARY

Works Version 2.00 modifies the color palette on EGA and VGA color screens. On EGA displays, it chooses 16 colors from a selection of 64 colors. On VGA displays, it chooses 16 colors from a selection of 262,144 colors.

Sometimes the color palette is forced back to the original palette. This occurs with some TSR (terminate and stay resident) programs, or when running Works 2.00 under Microsoft Windows/286 2.03, 2.10, or 2.11. On VGA displays, this problem causes the scroll bars to be magenta (purple), inactive windows to be bright green, and the desktop color to be cyan instead of gray. On EGA displays, this problem causes the active window title bar to become brown, inactive windows to be bright green, and the desktop color to be white instead of gray.

To restore the color palette, choose the Works Settings command on the Options menu. Press ENTER after the Works Settings dialog box has appeared. Works will reset the color palette to the appropriate settings.
