The information in this article applies to: |
- Microsoft Project for Windows, versions 1.0, 3.0 - Microsoft Project for the Macintosh, versions 1.1, 3.0 |
SYMPTOMS
Entering nonstandard values in the “Duration” field of a task results in the “Invalid duration value” alert message. Duration values need not be integers, but they must contain the duration abbreviations that are recognized by Microsoft Project for Windows, such as “d”, “ed”, “h”, “m”, etc. Therefore, entering a value such as 00004 for four days in the “Duration” field results in the error message.
STATUS
This problem does not occur in Microsoft Project version 4.0. Entering 00004 would be translated into 4d (or whatever unit was the default duration unit set in Tools - Options - Schedule Tab.)
