SUMMARY
In Word versions 5.00 and 5.50, pressing the DOWN ARROW key on the numeric keypad on a Wyse 286 computer may cause the cursor to continuously scroll. The only way to regain control of the program is to press the ESC key several times. A workaround is to set the “cursor speed:” field to 0 (zero) in the Options menu.
Wyse Technology has an updated keyboard scanning chip (the dash 12 chip) to correct this problem. Contact Wyse Technology at (408) 433-1000 for this updated keyboard chip.
