SUMMARY
Microsoft Works for MS-DOS can copy tables of information from the Communications module into separate cells of a spreadsheet or separate fields of a database. Works delimits columns in the table by searching for sets of spaces that run the entire length of the table.
MORE INFORMATION
Consider the list of stock quotes in the table below.
DATE HIGH LOW CLOSE VOLUME —- —- — —– ——
05/11/89 54 1/4 53 1/2 54 2400 05/10/89 54 3/4 53 1/4 54 4100 05/09/89 53 1/2 51 1/2 53 3800
If you select the entire table, including the headers, and copy it into a spreadsheet or database, Works separates the table as follows:
DATE HIGH LOW CLOSE VOLUME —- —- — —– ——
05/11/89 54.25 53.5 54 2400 05/10/89 54.75 53.25 54 4100 05/09/89 53.5 51.5 53 3800
However, if you copy only the data in the table and not the headers, Works separates the table as follows:
05/11/89 54 0.25 53 0.5 54 2400 05/10/89 54 0.75 53 0.25 54 4100 05/09/89 53 0.5 51 0.5 53 3800
