SUMMARY

In the List view, to move a column in the Microsoft Works Database module to a position other than the one it is in, do the following:

  1. Select the column by clicking its title and holding down the mouse button. The cursor will turn into a hand.
  2. Drag the mouse along the titles. As you cross each title, it will become highlighted. If you are moving to the left, the field will be inserted to the left of the highlighted field. If you are moving to the right, it will be inserted to the right of the highlighted field.
  3. Release the mouse button.

In the form mode (Works 2.0 only), to move the column to a position other than the one it is in, do the following:

  1. Select the column by clicking its title and holding down the mouse button. The cursor will turn into a hand.
  2. Move the column to the desired position and release the mouse button.

In the Design view (Works 3.0 and 4.0), to move the field to a position other than the one it is in, do the following:

  1. Select the column by clicking its title and holding down the mouse button.
  2. Move the column to the desired position and release the mouse button.

NOTE: In Works 2.0 form mode, the highlight will advance across the page then down through the fields when you use the TAB key. If you use the RETURN key, the highlight will advance down, and then go to a second column of fields if it exists. In Works 3.0 Data View, the highlight will advance in the same order as the fields appear across in List view.
