SUMMARY

Lotus METRO 1.00 has been reported to cause problems with Word versions 3.x and 4.00. There are currently no reported problems with Word version 5.00.

Lotus METRO is a TSR (terminate-and-stay resident) program, and apparently, there are keyboard conflicts when the application is used at the same time as Word. With METRO loaded resident in the computer’s memory, starting Word will cause the system to hang.

Starting Word with the /k switch in Word 3.x and 4.00, or installing for the keyboard safe option in Word 5.00, may help the situation.

Microsoft has not tested with this configuration, and therefore, cannot guarantee its results.
