SUMMARY
In Microsoft Word versions 4.0, and 5.0 the error message:
ENDIF or ELSE without IF
means the document contains an ENDIF or ELSE instruction without a matching, preceding IF instruction.
In Word 5.5, 6.0 the message is as follows:
- An ENDIF instruction must follow an IF instruction ***
Do the following:
- Press ESC to cancel Print Merge.
- Move the IF instruction above the ENDIF and ELSE instructions, or add an IF instruction before the text to be inserted conditionally.
