SUMMARY
When importing spreadsheet data using the Library Link command, the whole table is imported as one paragraph. A tab space is inserted between the cells and a newline character at the end of each row.
Because of this, the tab settings need to be adjusted for the table paragraph only once – the first time it is imported. When a spreadsheet area is updated, Word replaces everything between the starting and ending .L. codes, but keeps the original paragraph mark. Thus, any paragraph formatting (including the custom tab stops) or applied styles are not lost. Character formatting will be lost unless it is a part of the paragraph format.
