Summary:
An “Error Opening File = -50” alert can occur when running Microsoft Works version 1.00 or 1.10 with all of the following hardware:
- A Macintosh 512K with 64K ROMS
- An HD20 hard disk (serial connection)
- A start-up disk that is formatted as single sided, or 400K, with System version 3.2, Finder version 5.3, and an HD20 system file
One solution is to update the HD20 file to version 1.1. This file is available from local Apple dealers.
