SUMMARY
In Microsoft Word, a nonbreaking space looks the same as a regular space (SPACEBAR), unless you choose Complete in the Options “visible:” field (Word versions 4.0 and 5.0) or if you choose View Preferences Show All (ALT, V, E, A) (Word 5.5).
With the Complete or Show All option selected, a regular space is shown as a dot and a nonbreaking space is shown as a blank space.
