SUMMARY

Absolute positioning applies to running heads. If the Format Position command is used for a running-head paragraph, the running head will be placed as specified, and the body text will flow around it.

Beginning in Word version 5.00, margins are automatically increased to accommodate the running head. This is different from Word version 4.00, where the running head is truncated to accommodate the boundaries of the margins.
