SYMPTOMS

you can continue to receive one of the following error messages:

Microsoft Project Server cannot read from the specified SharePoint database. The reasons could be:

  1. ComputerName\UserName does not have read permissions on the specified SharePoint database.
  2. The database server and database name are not correctly specified.
  3. The database server is down and cannot be accessed at this time.


Microsoft Project Server cannot connect to the specified Web server running SharePoint Team services. The reasons could be:

  1. SharePoint Team Services is not installed on http://ServerName:PortNumber.
  2. ComputerName\UserName is not in the Windows NT Administrators group on ComputerName.
  3. If the local area network has proxy servers for Internet access, the proxy server is not specified in the LAN settings for the Internet Explorer.
  4. The server URL http://ServerName:PortNumber is not correct or the server cannot be accessed at this time.
  5. The SharePoint administration port PortNumber is not correct. For more information on setting up and configuring SharePoint Team Services on a Web server, refer to the Microsoft Project Server Installation Guide on the Microsoft Project Server menu (Start menu, Programs submenu).


VBscript:Microsoft Project Web Access Error occurred when creating subweb. Subweb does not seem to exist.

Cannot create subweb when the Microsoft Project Server machine has Internet Explorer version 5.5 installed.

WORKAROUND

You may be able to work around this problem by installing Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.

RESOLUTION

Service Pack Information

This problem is corrected in Microsoft Project Server 2002 Service Pack 1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
