SYMPTOMS
A scheduled Content Indexing crawl may fail on every URL in the database if an Exchange 2000 administrator changes the default SMTP e-mail address within the default recipient policy. An application log is generated that summarizes the problem: Content Indexing could not find any URLs in the old domain.

RESOLUTION

WORKAROUND
If this issue occurs, you must do one of the following two procedures:
- Change the policy back to the original SMTP address. -or-
- Delete, re-create, and then re-crawl all of the Content Indexes in the domain.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.
