SYMPTOMS
When you use Exchange 2000 Outlook Web Access (OWA) with Internet Explorer 5.x to create a new e-mail message, on the New Message form, the word "Attachments" is displayed as the name of the text box in the form. However, the text box is not for attachments, but for the body of the message. When you add an attachment, the attachment is displayed next to word "Attachments," above the large text box.
WORKAROUND
To add attachments to a new message, click the Attach icon (the paper clip) on the toolbar to open the Add Attachment dialog box.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
MORE INFORMATION
This behavior may cause confusion about where attached files are displayed after they are attached to the message. In addition, users may be confused about where to type the text for the body of the message.
