SUMMARY

When you are preparing for a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server installation, you must first run Setup.exe /ForestPrep followed by Setup.exe /DomainPrep in all domains that will host Exchange 2000 or that will have Exchange 2000 mailboxes.

If you try to run Setup.exe /DomainPrep before you run Setup.exe /ForestPrep, you receive the following error message:

Setup is unable to determine a valid ordering for the installation. See the error log for further details.
