SYMPTOMS
When you drag and drop a shape from the Maps stencil (Maps.vss), you may receive the following error message:
RESOLUTION
You receive this error message if you drop a shape into the master shape edit window instead of into the drawing page window. Look at the background color of the page as well as at the title bar of the window to determine which window you are using.
The incorrect window, the master shape edit window, has a bright green background. The title bar displays <filename>:Stencil:<master shape name> The example in the following picture uses the file Blocks.vss and a shape called New Master.
NOTE: You open the master shape edit window by double-clicking on a master shape in a stencil while the stencil is open as either read/write or copy. It is not necessary for the stencil to have a .vss extension. It is also possible to have a .vsd extension.
The correct window to drop a shape, (the drawing page window), has a light blue background. The title bar will display <filename>:<page number> as illustrated in the following picture.
MORE INFORMATION
If you want to create a new master shape by using the existing shapes from the map stencil, drag the shape directly into a stencil that has been open as read/write or as a copy.
