  • Microsoft Visual J++ 6.0 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q248073

SYMPTOMS

When you start Visual InterDev 6.0 or Visual J++ 6.0, the following error message appears:

Your trial version has expired, please uninstall this trial version of 'Visual InterDev 6.0' and install the retail product.

CAUSE

The cause of this behavior is that the appropriate trial version registry keys were not removed when one of the products listed at the beginning of this article was installed.

The time-out function of Visual InterDev 6.0 has been activated, which can happen after you install one of the Visual Studio 6.0 Service Packs or after the trial version has expired.

RESOLUTION

If you have purchased the full retail version of either one of these products and are receiving the error message, please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for assistance. Support links and telephone numbers are available at the following Web site:

MORE INFORMATION

This error has been sporadically reported on computers that have never had the trial version installed.
