SYMPTOMS
When you perform an unattended installation of German Windows 2000, Setup creates two "Documents and Settings" folders. One is named "Documents and Settings" and the other is named "Dokumente und Einstellungen."
Note that this behavior occurs only when you use the "OEMPreInstall=1" switch in the response file.
CAUSE
The creation of the "Documents and Settings" folder is hard-coded in Windows 2000
RESOLUTION
The extra "Documents and Settings" folder is unused; it is safe to remove it.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
