SYMPTOMS
When you use a custom post form, the time an item was posted is incorrect.
CAUSE
When you designed the form, you saved the item before you published the form. This causes the posted time to be the time the custom form was published, not the time an item was posted to a folder.
WORKAROUND
Do not save post forms before you publish them. If you have already done so, there is no way to clear the "posted" value. You must create a new custom post form, and then copy the customizations from the old form.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
On a post form, the Posted value is shown on the Read page of the form, so you must save an item to the folder, and then re-open the item to see this value. Although the field on the form says "Posted:," the value is actually stored in the item's Sent field. Outlook sets this field when an item is saved.
The problem occurs if you click the File menu, and then click Save before you publish the form. This initially sets the Sent field, which in turn, causes it to be updated when the form is published.
