SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, when you open a consolidated project you may receive a message indicating that your computer has run out of memory.

Microsoft Project stops responding and you receive the either of the following error messages.

When you click Details, you receive the following error message:

CAUSE
This problem may occur when you open a consolidated project and the Calculation option is set to Manual.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
To temporarily work around this behavior if you do not have SR-1, change the Calculation option to Automatic. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Calculation tab.
- Under Calculation, click Automatic. Click OK.
STATUS
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, ServiceRelease 1 (SR-1).
