SYMPTOMS
When viewing Microsoft Outlook 97 Contacts in a tabular type view, you are unable to edit certain fields.
CAUSE
This is by design.
RESOLUTION
Open the Contact item to edit the field.
MORE INFORMATION
To edit Contact fields in a tabular view you must have the "Allow in-cell editing" option selected. Even with this option selected, some fields cannot be edited in the cell. Examples of this are the File As and E-mail fields.
Selecting In-cell Editing
- On the View menu, click Format View.
- Click to select or clear the "Allow in-cell editing" check box.
