Article ID: 174773

Article Last Modified on 9/9/1999

APPLIES TO

This article was previously published under Q174773

SYMPTOMS

The command-line MSIE302.EXE /Q:1 /C:"INFINST.EXE /Q" does not do any customization to Internet Explorer if the browser was created from the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK). The command- line also causes the Java Virtual Machine to not install with Internet Explorer. This was a valid command-line with previous versions of Internet Explorer.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the command-line MSIE302.EXE /Q:1 /R:N /C:"INSTALL.EXE <destination directory>" to do an unattended setup of Internet Explorer. The <destination directory> is the location Internet Explorer is to be installed.
