SUMMARY
When Select>Multi-Node is active and you middle-click to select a hierarchy, all the objects that make up the branch or tree are selected as a node (as if you had selected each item individually). For example, when you copy materials to a selected portion, every child of the selected portion also receives the same material (the results are the same as if you had selected all the elements of the branch or tree individually in Multi mode).
