SYMPTOMS
When you calculate your worksheet, error messages similar to the following may appear.

If you click Details, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

CAUSE
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
- Your workbook is set to manual calculation mode. -and-
- You run Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications code that performs a Copy operation on a range of cells that contain a formula entered as an array. -and-
- The Visual Basic code performs a Paste Special operation with the copied cells, pasting only the values into the worksheet. -and-
- You calculate your worksheet.

You can use the Value property of the range instead of using the Copy method followed by the PasteSpecial method. For example, you can use the following code to remove the formulas from the selected range of cells:
Selection.Value = Selection.Value
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Excel 2000.
