SYMPTOMS
When attempting to use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages in Microsoft Outlook, you may receive the following error message:
Other OLE functions may not be affected.
CAUSE
One cause for this error is the use of an "@" character in the name of the computer.
RESOLUTION
Remove the @ character from the name of the computer.
MORE INFORMATION
To Change Your Computer's Name
- Click Start, point to Settings and click Control Panel. Double-click the Network icon.
- On the Identification tab, change the name in the Computer Name box so that it does not contain the @ character.
- Click OK.
