SUMMARYThis article describes how to connect using 10-digit dialing in NetMeeting. 10-digit dialing is a method for dialing a telephone number with a different area code from your own as a local number. This may be necessary in areas in which you must dial the area code even for a local call. Windows 95 is designed to add a "1" before a telephone number that has a different area code from your default area code so that you do not need to add it manually. Some states and countries have telephone numbers that are in different area codes but are not long distance calls. Callers in these areas can make calls to some other area codes as a local call.
