SYMPTOMS
Microsoft Word may capitalize the first letter of inserted AutoCorrect text if the inserted text starts a sentence.
CAUSE
The "Capitalize first letter of sentences" option is turned on by default in Microsoft Word.
WORKAROUND
To avoid this behavior, use either of the following methods.
Method 1: Press CTRL+Z to Undo the AutoCorrect Formatting
Immediately after Word capitalizes the AutoCorrect entry, press CTRL+Z.
Word will undo the capitalization.
Method 2: Clear the "Capitalize first letter of sentences" Check Box
On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect, and then click to clear the "Capitalize first letter of sentences" check box.
NOTE: This permanently disables the "Capitalize first letter of sentences" function until it is turned on again.
MORE INFORMATION
When you have created an AutoCorrect entry that begins with a lowercase letter, Microsoft Word may capitalize the first character when the AutoCorrect text begins a new sentence.
