--------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher 97 for Windows --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY ======= Microsoft Publisher does not have a built-in setting for printing to Avery 6490 diskette labels. This article describes how to configure Publisher to print to the Avery 6490 labels. MORE INFORMATION ================ Step 1. Define the Page Size ---------------------------- 1. Set your page size to equal the width and height of the Avery 6490 Label, using the following steps: a. On the File menu, click Page Setup. b. In the "Choose a Publication Layout" section, click Special Size. c. Type 2.69" in the Width box, and 2.00" in the Height box. d. Click OK. 2. Make sure everything in your publication fits within this page size. Step 2. Define the Page Options ------------------------------- 1. On the File menu, click Print. 2. Click Page Options. 3. Click Custom Options. 4. In the Type in Spacing section, enter the following values: Side Margin 0.13" Top Margin 0.50" Horizontal Gap 0.09" Vertical Gap 0.00" 5. Click OK three times. These settings define a page that contains three columns of five labels per column on an 8.5" by 11" page. NOTE: The unprintable region on the side margin on your printer may be greater than 0.13 inches. This may affect how the left-hand column of labels prints. Print a test sheet on a plain piece of paper before you print your labels.
